Sunday School
Embury’s Sunday School includes something for every member of the family! It is held 9 – 10 a.m. most Sundays except during the summer school recess. Our Sunday School students begin their Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. with informal music in the church sanctuary (combined with Embury's informal service). The students then split up and go to their own classes.
Preschool begins at age three and goes through through kindergarten; this class is taught by Pat McCrink. Our first and second grade class is taught by Mrs. Betty Griffiths who has taught in our Sunday School for over fifty years. Our next class is for children in third or fourth grades taught by Andrea Dadap and Christine Gobillot. The Preschool uses the Cokesbury Exploring Faith curriculum and our classes for first through fourth graders uses the Gospel Light Series.
The Junior High class (grades 5-8) is taught by Jamie Montero. The Senior High class (grades 9-12) is taught by Cheri Scolari and Craig Montero. This year, the Senior High class will study on the Holy Spirit. An Adult class is taught by Rich Roper and will cover various Biblical topics.
The Sunday School has over fifty students attending on a regular basis. There are special events throughout the year including a Christmas pageant, Lenten classes, Promotion Sunday and Vacation Bible School in the summer.
Our Youth Group, currently open to 7th grade to 12th grade, meets twice a month, led by Scott Moeller.
